Game preview

Today, I'm going to do a game preview on Assassins Creed Odyssey. This Game review will include a trailer, game play, and a full game preview indicating the theme, genre, Mode of Game Play and the perspective of the game.

Game trailer

From the trailer for the game we can see that there is a lot of story to be involved within the game, we can also see lots of themes within it too. There also seems to be a lot of combat involved in the game, which include large battles and the use of ship conflict, brought back from other games in the franchise, such Black Flag and Rogue. we can also see a lot of scenery used to make the game more immersive around the area of Greece. From the trailer as well we see lots of characters involved in the game, this obviously enhances the game more because there is simply more to do.

Themes 

As we've seen there were a lot of themes revealed within the trailer. One of them was theme of love, this will probably contrast with the conflict in the game and open up different game choices. another theme shown is anger, the protagonist you play as has anger for his father who dropped you off the cliff. This brings in the theme of vengence which also seems to be a main theme and will flow through the whole story. 

Mode of Game Play 

As usual we expect the same third-person aspect of the assassins creed franchise, with first-person roles, e.g the bow mechanic within the games combat. We also expect the open world environment, this time it being set in Greece. As we know from previous games in the franchise we see an exploration and adventure genre for the game, with obvious elements of action and fantasy.

Game play trailer

From the Game play trailer we can see how vast this game is going to be There is a very intricate combat system that flows great, the overall combat is very well thought out and will be enjoyable to play. Within the combat we see a battlefield mechanic which immerses you within the struggle of power between the Athens and the Spartans. This adds a whole new play style for the franchise and it makes the whole historic aspect of the games more understandable and overall increases the immersion for the player. To top that off Ubisoft has added a chose-how-you-play aspect within a dialogue system with effects the game from what choices you make. Also from the Game play we see a character system which gives you a diverse option to how you play the game.

Conclusion

Overall, I think this game is going to be great and I look forward to playing it. The games combat system will definitely be a great selling point because its so intricate and helps the action flow through the games story and the free roam. This game has great themes, which can be acted upon with the choices you make within the game. Seriously this game is going to be great to play and i'll give my overall thoughts about the game, when it is released.
